Mani Rimdu Festival Trek in Everest Region
Day 1:Arrive in Kathmandu (1400 m)
Day 2:Take a flight (2860 m) to Lukla and then trek to Phakding (2610 m)
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar( 3440 m, 5-6 hour) from Phakding
Day 4: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar
Day 5: Journey from Namche to Tengboche Monastery (3860 m,5-6 hour)
Day 6:Explore Mani Rimdu Festival in Tengboche Monastery
Day 7: Trek back to Namche from Tengboche

The Mani Rimdu Festival is like a big party thrown by the Sherpa people,followers of Tibetan Buddhism, in October/ November each year. Monks at Tengboche Monastery meditate for nine days, then bless everyone and put on amazing mask dances that draw people from all over the world. Another monastery, Chiwang, joins in the fun too!
