Day 3 - Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding (2610m) – Trek Approx 3-4 Hours.
Relishing the spectacular panorama of the Himalayas throughout our 35-minute flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu, we head on to our journey in the Himalayas. Upon landing in Lukla, we meet the other crew members and after some sorting and packing arrangements, we begin our hike through the pretty wealthy village of Lukla towards Phakding (2,650m). We descend on a broad track in the Dudh Koshi Valley to the town of Chheblung. The lovely pine and rhododendron woodland in the valley serves as a conduit for energy. We follow the river's path while walking, passing through the village of Ghat before arriving at Phakding, where Tea House Lodges are available for lodging.
Day 4 - Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)– Trek Approx 5-6 Hours.
We begin our day with a warm cup of tea and frigid weather. On our way to Namche Bazaar from Phakding. As we trek down the Dudh Koshi River, we cross rich rhododendron, pine, and juniper forests in the Himalayas and reach Sagarmatha National Park. Every permission needed to access the park will be handled by our guide, who will also lead us on a route through a forested area. We can now clearly see Mount Everest's (8,848-meter) face as we steadily ascend. We travel over a few suspension bridges to reach Namche Bazaar after entering the park. This famous town in the lap of the Himalayas also offers the best views of the Thamserku (6608 meters) and the holy mountain Khumbi Yui Lha (5761 meters) Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), and Thamserku (6623m) and Kongde Range. Overnight at a lodge in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5 - Acclimatization Day
Namche boasts a variety of lodges, restaurants, tea shops, souvenirs, and gift shops, and it is tucked between two ridges among the massive peaks of the Khumbu. Namche, sometimes referred to as the "Las Vegas" of the Khumbu, is the ideal location to take a day off and acclimate to the higher altitude before continuing to Tengboche. This day tour allows seeing a hospital and school founded by Sir Edmund Hillary himself, as well as the chance to increase elevation and enjoy a one-hour hike up to the Everest Views hotel above Namche for beautiful sunset views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest. We enjoy ourselves at Namche and then settle in for the night before hitting the trails the next day.
Day 6 - Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3860m– Trek Approx 4-5 Hours.
With a little relaxation from the previous day, we move ahead to reach Debouche. The trail is filled with uphill and downhill walks. As we move ahead to cross the Dudh Koshi River, we observe diverse floras and faunas. We reach Phunki Tenga, where we can see the panoramic scenery of the entire village. Blessed with the best panoramic view of the mountains like Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,516), Nuptse (7,861), Thamserku (6,623m), the trail leads to Tengboche Monastery. Also known as 'Monastery on the top of the hill'. We halt at Tengboche and surrender to the beauty of the place as we prepare for the next day.
Day 7 - Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche 4410m - Trek Approx 5-6 Hours.
The path ascends and follows the west side of the Imja Khola valley after leaving Tengboche, offering breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, the Nuptse-Lhotse wall, and Everest. After lunch, we visit the monastery that is home to artifacts rumored to be the yeti hand and skull as we reach Pangboche, the settlement with the oldest monastery in the area, via the steep route. We go to Dingboche from Pangboche by way of alpine meadows, the little settlements of Somare and Hortse, and beneath the majestic Ama Dablam. The route turns out to be quite challenging as we ascend to higher elevations and the decreasing level of oxygen. This is an exciting village to spend the night with all meals.
Day 8 - Acclimatization Day, Hike to Chhukhung-Ri 5550m (7 hours side trip)
This day is dedicated to adjusting to the high altitude. We don't put too much pressure on ourselves and instead allow our bodies to acclimate to the thinner air. We adhere to the maxim that you should ascend further up. We can trek to Chhukhung-Ri (5550m, though). We trek for a few hours across mountainous terrain to get to the little settlement of Chhukhung. To get to Chhukhung-Ri, we climb for a further couple of hours. From this vantage point, Lhotse, Makalu, Taboche, and Island Peak are all visible. Back in Dingboche, we go. Dingboche Lodge for the night.
Day 9 - Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche 4910m - Trek Approx 5-6 Hours.
As we depart Dingboche, we will be climbing through rocky ridges. The trail to Lobuche, one of the greatest routes in the journey, is exceptional and is accompanied by stunning mountain views the entire way. Before arriving at Thukla, which offers a spectacular view of Lobuche, Pumori, Cholatse, Taboche, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the other Himalayas, we hike through Khumbu Khola and pass little Mani walls and Chortens. From Thukla, we hike for a few hours before ascending the steep moraines of the Khumbu glacier to reach Lobuche, passing a series of stone memorials constructed in honor of Sherpas who have perished on mountaineering trips to Mt. Everest. The view of Nuptse's sunset from here is breathtaking. A full-board stay at Lobuche is included.
Day 10 - Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep 5140m/3 hours and explore the Everest Base Camp 5364m.
Today it’s a pretty strenuous, hard day as we leave very early, trekking along the bank of Khumbu glacier, we walk for a few hours through rough ridges till we reach Gorakshep (5,170m). The trek re-enters the Khumbu Glacier after a little break and lunch. We will finally arrive at base camp close to the Khumbu Icefall after around three hours. We tour the snow- and ice-covered base camp. Standing at the base of Mount Everest, we have a breathtaking view of the other Himalayan peaks, including Pumori (7161m), Lingtren (6714m), Khumbutse (6636m), Nuptse (7861m), Lobuche (6119m), and Taboche (6542m). We explore the base camp before slowly making our way downwards to Gorakshep. We may peacefully pass the remaining day there, pleased in our hearts.
Day 11 - Hike to Kalapatthar and trek from Gorakshep to Pheriche 4240m (5/6 hours).
The greatest place to admire Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Khumbutse, Nuptse, Lingtren, Pumori, Thamserku, Lobuche Peak, and the other Himalayas is from Kalapatthar. The highest elevation of our whole walk will be reached here. We stay here for about an hour before making the short trip to Gorak Shep to have our breakfast. We continue our descent and reach Changri Glacier. Till we reach Pheriche, we continue our trek through Lobuche and Thukla. Pheriche Lodge for the night.
Day 12 - Trek from Pheriche to Phortse 3810m/5-6 hours.
We continue our descent to Phortse by hopping over little wooden bridges across streams of water. We arrive at Pangboche village on our journey, which takes us to Imja Khola Valley. To get to Phortse, we hike down Imja Khola for a while. We went into the 1996-built Phortse Gompa. Phortse lodging for the night.
Day 13 - Trek from Phortse to Namche Bazaar 3440m/4-5 hours.
The following trail has a lot of downhills, descending through dense pine and juniper forests, we cross a bridge over Dudh Koshi River to reach Phortse Thenga. We pass the small village of Kyangjuma on our way to Namche Bazaar. After 5 hours of trek, we halt at Namche Bazaar for this day and enjoy the world-famous bakeries. Overnight at lodge in Namche Bazaar.
