Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be displaying The Himalayan Trek signboard outside the airport terminal. You will then be transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.
Day 2 - Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley (1,330)
After a hearty breakfast, at 8.30 am your sightseeing trip will start. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. Today we will visit some heritages listed below:
Pashupatinath Temple:
One of the most important Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the entire globe is Pashupatinath Temple, which is situated along the banks of the Bagmati River. Though you are not allowed to go inside the temple as it is strictly for Hindus only, you can see the temple and the activities from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. It is a square two-tiered pagoda temple built on a single-tier plinth that is famous all over the world.
Boudhanath Stupa:
Boudhananath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It was built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going around the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square:
Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, the famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Dattatreya temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows.
The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in the Thamel area for trekking essentials.
Day 3 - Flight to Lukla (2,883 m) Trek to Phakding (2,640 m) -Approx 3 hours trek.
You will be taken to Kathmandu's domestic airport for an exciting 45-minute mountain flight to Lukla. We'll meet up with our support crew in Lukla, from where we'll begin our trek along the Dudh Koshi River, a raging river that flows from the glaciers of some of the world's highest peaks. We will reach Phakding while passing beautiful wheat fields and traditional villages.
Day 4 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
We will walk through pine trees, Rhododendron, Magnolias, and cultivated terraces in the Sagarmatha National Park on this day. You can often see groups of yaks carrying goods from one location to another in the Everest area while trekking up to Namche Bazaar. Some peaks will be visible from Namche Bazaar providing a satisfying view of the mountains.
Day 5 - Acclimatization Day, day hike to Shyangboche (3,833m) - Approx 2-3 hours trek.
This is an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. As you ascend higher into the mountains, the air becomes thinner, so to acclimate your body to the thinner air and lower air pressure, we stop in Namche, which has plenty to do while you acclimate. We'll take a short day hike up to Shyangboche's Everest View Hotel for magnificent views of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest
Day 6 - Trek to Phortse Tenga (3, 600 m) - Approx 4-5 hours trek.
We continue our Cho-la Pass Trek by climbing up the small ridge above the Namche Bazaar, adjusting to the changing climate conditions. We will eventually walk on the main trekking trail that leads to Tyangboche, but first, we will walk around Khumbilia (5,716m), a sacred mountain for the locals, which leads to the top of the rocky village of Mon La stupa after a gradual climb through beautiful birch forest and yak pastures to a stupa (3,992m). Mount Everest is visible above the Lhotse (8,511m) and Nuptse (7,896m) peaks, with the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers con fluxing below us. We descend to Phortse Tenga via a series of switchback tails from the stupa.
Day 7 - Trek to Dole (4040m) - Approx 4-5 hours trek.
We awaken in the beautiful Gokyo Valley's southern end. We climb to join the path, which provides a spectacular view of the massive Cho-Oyu (8,153m) and takes us above the tree line, from where we walk through Tongba (4,015m) and Gyele (4,050m), two temporary yak-herding settlements, before arriving at Dole. We walk past some beautiful waterfalls and see the glaciers flowing through the valley from Tawetse (6,542m) and Cholatse (6,440m).
Day 8 - Trek to Macchermo (4,440m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
We gradually climb up to the Dudh Koshi Valley, high above the river, after breakfast. The ascent is fast, but you will experience altitude effects due to the rising altitude. The path has now gone through the tree line, and the landscape has shifted to a tiny clump of juniper that stands out against the snowy white peaks. After lunch, you can climb up to the base of Kyojo Ri and Macchermo Peak through the rocky moraines. Since three Yaks were killed and a Sherpa girl was seriously injured in 1974 while trying to fight off a hairy ape-like creature on the route in this region, you should be extremely cautious while hiking to the location.
Day 9 - Trek to Gokyo (4,754m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
We will walk up to Gokyo village in the morning to get into the alpine country before heading up the Mgozumpa Glacier, Nepal's largest glacier, and onto the marine and rock that stretches down from it. When we enter the glacier's snout, the road levels out and runs parallel to the Ngozumpa Glacier. The glacier is separated from us by a huge lateral marine. Before reaching the third lake, Dudh Pokharai, at the incredible Gokyo village, we trek through Longpongo Lake and Taochelake (where Tibetan Ducks are often seen swimming in the freezing water).
Day 10 - Trek to Ascent of Gokyo-Ri (5,483m) and back to Gokyo (4,754m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
The trek begins early in the morning as we march up to the Gokyo Ri, which takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on your health and acclimatization. From the rocky summit, you can see Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,153m), Lhotse (8,501m), Makalu (8,481m), and other towering white peaks, while the Ngozumpa Glacier spreads through the valley below us. The incredible Gokyo Valley is completed by the color of the lakes.
Day 11 - Trek to Thangna (4,700 m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
After breakfast at Gokyo, we will begin our trek in the morning. The trail starts with a 45-minute climb along the glacier, then moves to a descent across the valley to reach Thangna (4,700m), which also serves as the base camp for Cho La Pass. You will be surrounded by fantastic mountain views and natural beauty while trekking. We have basic and minimal teahouse facilities in Thangna.
Day 12 - Trek to Dzongla (4,843 m) via Chola Pass (5,335 m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
This is most likely the day you've all been looking forward to. We'll be crossing the Chola Pass today (5,335m). We'll start our trek early in the morning to take advantage of the calmer weather, as the pass is incredibly windy throughout the day, making crossing the pass difficult. Following our ascent to Cho La Pass, we will descend into the Dzongla Valley. The sensations of passing the mighty Cho La Pass are indescribable, and the views are breathtaking.
Day 13 - Trek to Lobuche (4,930 m) - Approx 5-6 hours trek.
After a wintry night, the early morning sun gives spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayas. Then we walk in the direction of the busy Everest Base Camp trail. The Chola glacier may be seen pouring from the saddle between the cliffs of Cholatse and Tawache peaks with an erratic display of natural splendor as we hike high on the sides of Awi Mountain, above the settlement of Chola, towards Cholatse Lake. We continue walking above the tree line through a barren landscape, where we can see peaks like Cholatse, Lobuche, and Pumari. At the Dugla Ridge, there are several rock cairns dedicated to mountaineers who died while attempting to reach higher peaks. From Dugla, we hike up to the Khumbu Glacier's coastal, Nepal's longest glacier, and then trek to Lobuche for an overnight stay.
Day 14 - Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140 m) Visit Everest base camp (5,350 m) - Approx 7-8 hours trek.
After breakfast, we'll walk along the rocky path of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep's settlement. We'll stop in Gorak Shep for lunch before continuing our trek to the Everest Base Camp (5,340m), from where we'll return to Gorakshep for the night stay. Beautiful mountains surround this wonderful village, including Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), Nuptse (7,745m), and, of course, Everest (8,848m).
Day 15 - Trek to Kalapatthar (5,545 m) and back to Dingboche (4,350 m) - Approx 7-8 hours trek.
On this day, we'll hike up to the popular Kalapatthar for 360-degree panoramic views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks, including Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Thamserku, among others. It's a short walk from Kalapatthar to Lobuche, from where we descend to Pheriche by crossing a bridge over the raging glacier water.
Day 16 - Day hike to Chhukung - Approx 7-8 hours trek.
Today's trail parallels the valley's contours, steadily ascending for around two hours to Chhukung (4,730m). Beyond the Chhukung, the trail climbs steeply for around two hours to the Chhukung Ri (5,550m). Mt Makalu (8,463m), Baruntse (7,220m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Pumori (7,165m), Lhotse (8,516m), Lhotse Shar (8,382m), Nuptse (7,879m), peak-38 (7,591m), Ama Dablam (7,879m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kangtega (6,783m), Kusum Kanggaru (6,367), Cholaste (6,335m), Tabuche peak (6,495m), Kwang Ri (6,090m), Chhukung peak (5,833), Amphulapche (5,663m), Island Peak (6,189m), Amphulapcha Pass (5,839m) and beautiful view of Imja lake are all visible from Chhukung Ri (6,856m). We trek back to Dingboche after lunch at Chhukung, where we will spend the night.
Day 17 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) - Approx 7-8 hours trek.
We will start our trek to Namche Bazaar after breakfast. We'll trek to Tyangboche through juniper and Rhododendron forests to see the famous monastery, which has a spectacular view of Mt. Amadablam as well as lush green hills and river views. Following our visit to the monastery, we will cross the Dudh Koshi River on a suspension bridge and proceed to Kyanjuma, the intersection of the three routes to Gokyo Valley, Khumjung Village, and Namche Bazaar. Pheasants, Himalayan Griffons, Musk deer, and wild goats can be seen when trekking through the Rhododendron forests.
Day 18 - Trek to Lukla (2,810 m) - Approx 7-8 hours trek.
We climb steadily down the Dudh Koshi River from Namche Bazaar and cross the suspension bridge, after which the path becomes smooth. To get to Lukla for the night, we walk through the thick Rhododendron forests and the lovely village of Phakding. If time allows, you can wander around Lukla's shops.
Day 19 - Fly Back to Kathmandu (1,338m).
Finally, in Lukla (Porters), we tell our goodbyes to the crew members and board a flight back to Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu, you will be moved to your hotel and have the remainder of the day free. This day also serves as a contingency in case any flights are canceled due to poor weather on the day before or after.
Day 20 - Free day in Kathmandu (1,338m)
You get the day off today. There are many interesting places to visit in the Kathmandu Valley, such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, and we are happy to make recommendations if you want to go. You can also take a stroll through the Thamel streets, which are lined with souvenir shops.
